The project required a new installation of Joomla!, the Content Management System and VirtueMart, a fully-functional e-commerce component. The online store provides seamless integration of product information and customised pricing for consumers and business customers. Maintenance and updates to Joomla and VirtueMart are made via the web browser, with no need for knowledge of HTML and FTP programs. Payments are made through the HSBC Secure Payment facility, which is coded into the VirtueMart installation and protected by SSL (https). The OpenSEF component also added to provide search-engine friendly urls. |
